The technician applying for the position does not need to have a Class B CDL with a Tanker Endorsement to be considered but they will need to acquire it within the 90 day probation period.
Technicians operate vacuum trucks and assist other employees in cleaning grease traps, petroleum related work, car wash cleanings, and minimal septic work. All employees train with senior employees prior to working alone.
Currently we are looking for a self-managed employee who can work night shift assisting customers with their grease trap and any other needs. Night shift driving will start after training. Training for this position is during the day.
All jobs are completed on routes across the state of Ohio so applicants should be okay with driving throughout their work day but employees are home most days. Out of town work is possible a few times a year.
Responsibilities
- Transport grease from grease traps, petroleum contaminated water from fuel sites, car wash debris, and other materials to and from disposal facilities and job sites
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
- Document and retain fuel/toll receipts
- Input “macros” into our automated system for each stage of the loading and unloading process
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Collect and verify work order instructions
- Report defects, accidents or violations
Skills
- Proven work experience as a truck driver (Not required for application)
- Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc.)
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- No recent moving or driving violations
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid CDL truck driving license (Not required for application)
